Policy Hotel Concept
A dynamic & vibrant guest room concept for new Hong Kong lifestyle hotel brand
Challenge
We were invited to create a guest room design concept to represent a new lifestyle hotel brand for a well-known Operator. This specific concept was used to sell the vision of the hotel to the owner of a property in Hong Kong, which ultimately secured them a management agreement for this property.
Insight
New hotel brands often need to go beyond a brand guide or development summary to tell the story of the hotel to a potential new owner or developer. This is especially true in the lifestyle space, as these brands are often agile and out to create something new and different. In this instance, Scott Carver were able to help our client demonstrate the design vision of the hotel to capture the imagination and gain the trust of the property owner.
Solution
This Policy Hotel is targeting the Millennial guest, who seek experiences. Its location in the shopping mecca of Hong Kong, allowed us to design the hotel room as an extension of the shopping experience. Cues were taken from retail detailing to create places to hang clothing and display newly purchased treasures – creating homes for guest’s belongings within the 19 square meter space. Inspiration was taken from luxury fitting rooms and private shopping experiences to create a lounge area within the guest room which provides the perfect platform to model new purchases or relax and watch the activity of the city below.
