Ross Smith Hotel Precinct
A vibrant hospitality precinct unifying the Gateway to Sydney Airport
The dual-branded hotel comprises 321 rooms ranging from 19m² King - 40m² Suites and is supported by an integrated double-height ground floor that spills out into the external courtyard, providing bar and dining experiences available to all guests staying at the precinct. Front of house amenities balance luxury and practicality through the provision of a wellness centre, crew and club lounges and co-working spaces; catering for the varying hotel guests and lengths of stay. The forecourt features endemic plant species that extend across the site to create a seamless precinct ground plane and guest journey.
“The dynamic built form anchors the gateway arrival to Sydney Airport, forming a unique identity for the revitalised hotel precinct that comprises world-class guest, food and beverage and wellness offerings.” says Thomas Hansen, Principal Architect at Scott Carver, of the design.
The hotel precinct and arrival forecourt draw guests into the site, creating a unique arrival experience by extending an enhanced guest journey beyond the new hotel to the Mantra and Ibis offerings. Architecturally, materiality and finishes imitate the dappled play of light and shadow of the Sydney harbour, mirroring the vast blue skies and symphony of sunset hues distinct to the experience of the city.
The Ross Smith Hotel Precinct strategically unifies the existing hotel precinct by anchoring the site with a world-class guest offering that reflects the experience of Sydney Harbour and resonates the aspirations of Sydney Airport. We are proud to be working to bring this vision to fruition and look forward to sharing more with you as the project progresses.
