Scott Carver was engaged to provide Integrated Design Services for the new build, 430-key hotel at Sydney Airport’s Domestic Terminal. Having been engaged prior to the Operator Selection Process, the client relied on the team’s expertise in hotel design and operations to provide key insights to position this property. The design team drew on their experience and knowledge to determine the guest profile, establish the competitive set and provide a gap analysis, ultimately creating the brief and positioning the hotel as a dual-branded hotel offer.
With the average night stay of 0.8 nights, this property’s point of difference was to capture the daytime audience to drive local revenue into the hotel at its quietest times, from 7am to 4pm. The hotel was designed to direct pedestrian traffic from surrounding commercial and hotel properties through the courtyard entrance, buzzing with activity from the restaurant, bar and co-working offer all set within the hotel lobby.
