Thomas is the Co-Managing Director at Scott Carver focused on the design of projects across all studio sectors including mixed-use, multi-residential, hotels, community, commercial, build to rent, education and masterplanning.

A multi-sector design architect, Thomas leads projects from feasibility, design competition and concept stages, through to project handover. He applies a human-centric design philosophy to develop solutions which reflect the aspirations of clients and that enrich the lives of users and the wider community. His cross-sector expertise allows Thomas to bring shared insights, learnings and innovative thinking to each project.

A clear and succinct communicator, Thomas applies both lateral and systematic design thinking to understand and resolve problems, this approach enables him to comprehend and connect both big picture and detailed thinking in order to unlock project opportunities and deliver real value to stakeholders through design.

Thomas's design talents are underpinned by a sound understanding of business, innovation and strategy, in addition to his Master of Architecture he holds a Master of Business Administration (Executive) from AGSM at the UNSW Business School. He brings a balance of creative and commercial thinking, and a curious empathy for the diverse perspectives of all project stakeholders, allowing him to weave their varied and sometimes conflicting needs into a unified and holistic design response.

This is evidenced through some of Thomas’s recent significant works include the global award-winning Tonsley Tafe Campus, Mona Vale Surf Life Saving Club, Rozelle Village (former Balmain Leagues Club), Ross Smith Hotel Precinct and design excellence competition winning schemes for 2 Sorrell Street and 197 Church Street Parramatta.
