Challenge

Scott Carver and International design practice Henning Larsen (Denmark) were invited by Dexus to take part in the City of Sydney Design Excellence Competition for their lifestyle development at 201 Elizabeth Street in 2018. The development, of State Significance, based on a new luxury experience, through the creation of a destination for all that is a sophisticated, timeless and an elegant legacy for the City of Sydney.

Solution

Our proposal for Elizabeth & Park has struck this balance between inclusive luxury, craftsmanship, and subtlety to create a bespoke outcome based on three key principles of, nature as legacy; the extension of public space into the building beyond the ground plane; and the connection of the street to sky; through the breaking down of the tower form as it extends to the ground plane.
