Aquafit Fitness & Lifestyle Centre
A sustainable approach to the design of a fitness centre
Challenge
The design of this project was considerably influenced by the principles of sustainability. The orientation of the building, the shading systems, the use of timber as structural elements, energy efficient lighting and the use of electronic monitoring and control systems are all examples of sustainable measures implemented in the building. These innovative measures pre-empted what are now considered as positive initiatives for energy efficiency calculations.
Insight
Creating a facility that provided Campbelltown Catholic Club members with the opportunity to achieve the feeling of “wellness” was the driver behind this project.
Solution
The architecture and interior design of this project delivers a high quality environment, providing users with an innovative wellness centre in the heart of Campbelltown.
