A state-of-the-art facility for the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games
Challenge
To reconstruct and refurbish the existing shore-based buildings as well as construct a new 120 berth marina, a hardstand area, temporary structures for housing workshops, and accommodating other essential behind the scenes amenities such as logistics support and competition management, suitable for the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games.
Insight
Post Olympics the venues were adapted to form part of the improved foreshore reserve around the spectacular Rushcutters Bay.
Solution
With the venue being assessed for its function, architecture, environmental design and urban integration, the Olympic Sailing Shore Base at Rushcutters Bay was the state of the art facility that catered to the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games; hosting numerous sailing events and international patrons.
