Pacific Harbour Golf and Country Club
A benchmark Golf and Country Club in Queensland
Challenge
As the first building in a planned community on Queensland’s Bribie Island, the Golf and Country Club at Pacific Harbour was going to be the first and continuing place of contact with all residents choosing to build within the community.

Insight
The Club opens out with large terraces to extensive views of the surrounding golf course. Large roof canopies dramatise the outlook while also shading the large glass walls from the heat gain of the sun.
Solution
The building is designed to function entirely through natural ventilation except in extreme conditions when motorised systems seal the building for effective air-conditioning. The Club has been adopted as the heart of the emerging community and has become a benchmark around Australia.
