Bora Bora Lagoon Resort
A contemporary interpretation of traditional Tahitian architecture
Challenge
To design the first resort on a small island in Bora Bora for Japanese firm Nara Corporation. These overwater bungalows needed to suit their context, with a contemporary twist.
Insight
Motu Toopua is a small island in the middle of the Bora Bora Lagoon, and surrounded by clear tri-color blue waters and views of the enchanted emerald peaks of Mt. Otemanu.
Solution
These 50 spacious thatched overwater bungalows that are separated into three clusters and are a contemporary interpretation of traditional Tahitian architecture.

Details
The resort features 30 garden and beach villas, a central reception, restaurant and bar pavilion, swimming pool, tennis courts, and lush tropical gardens.
