Strategically located at the corner of Market and Kent Street, the 1 Market Street redevelopment presented the three key opportunities; Enhancing the building address and identity, revitalize precinct connectivity and activation, and achieve additional lettable area uplift.
The proposed concept designs incorporate lobby and façade upgrades to readdress the street presence of the building and enhancing the experience and sense of arrival for tenants and users.
Leveraging on the buildings location and connectivity to the new Cockle Bay wharf precinct, the design uses a series of key moves at the ground plane to re-imagine the rear laneway link as a building “third space”, capturing the tenants, passers-by and the wider public that may pass through the precinct from Darling Harbour to Townhall and vice versa.
1 Market is set to become a redefined gateway at the nexus of Sydney’s commercial and entertainment precinct. Its new amenities, floor space and eat street offerings truly make this a destination for people to experience.
