Nikki has over 6 years’ experience across interior design and architecture. She offers a diverse portfolio of project typologies spanning the retail, hospitality, residential, student accommodation, commercial and health sectors.
A pragmatic and well-rounded designer, Nikki has a passion for collaborative interdisciplinary projects, as well as detailing, materiality and lighting. Thoroughly enjoying a hands-on approach to her work, Nikki has previously worked closely with a joinery workshop, in which she was fortunate to see her designs come to life, first-hand. Her project management experience is also an asset to clients, from her exposure to on-site issues.
Nikki’s understanding of the entire design process has been further developed through her experience across multi-residential and interior fit-out projects. Her involvement in both the design and project management phases form an experience she notes as highly beneficial, providing her with an in-depth knowledge of intricate interior detailing.
Her biggest design influences are Carlo Scarpa, for his intricate attention to detailing and proportions, and Kengo Kuma’s Zen and light-weight approach to architecture; where the exterior continues into the interior by using natural materials and light/ shadows. Nikki believes that good design is design that has a consistent story from a 1:1000 scale to 1:1 scale – every detail should have a story.
