Opening Bennelong Bridge
On Sunday the 22nd of May 2016, our design team stood alongside locals at Wentworth Point and Rhodes to witness the official unveiling of the Scott Carver masterplanned, 330-metre Bennelong Bridge in Homebush Bay; an important connection between the Wentworth Point and Rhodes communities across the Parramatta River.
Designed to transform these two precincts into a vibrant community, Bennelong Bridge will enable a sharing of amenities, as Wentworth Point residents can easily access the train station at Rhodes, and the people of Rhodes can enjoy the retail, dining and other social amenities that have been created in the new high-density town centre that Scott Carver has designed for Billbergia.
The Bridge took 10 years of planning and two years of construction to complete, making Sunday’s official opening and first ever journey across its length a very welcomed celebration.
It is definitely great to see an ambitious vision finally realised and we would like to congratulate everyone who made Bennelong Bridge a reality.
