John celebrates 25 years
Congratulations to Senior Associate John Ferres, who is celebrating his 25th Anniversary at Scott Carver.
An exemplar of our longstanding commitment to design in Sydney, John reflects on some of his fonder moments over the last (few) years:
“The biggest career highlight was our extensive involvement with the Sydney 2000 Olympics, starting with the New Sydney Showgrounds at Homebush Bay. It was great to see these projects really resonate with the wider Community, particularly as all of Sydney (and the world) embraced the event.
I have been involved on numerous waterfront, maritime and marina projects over the last 15 years, often involving urban regeneration. A key factor to my continued interest in practising Architecture at Scott Carver, has been the ability to work on a diverse range of complex large-scale projects, including residential, commercial, sporting (I’m a sports guy!), retail and infrastructure.
I have been lucky enough to enjoy continuous travel to cities around the world, which has reinforced a common desire for place making and the pursuit of enhanced liveability. I’m looking forward to the continued design of “human-sensitive” solutions to a variety of architectural challenges (especially if they involve Golf).”
