Chris applies a way of working to his practice which seeks outcomes that are conscious of a place’s culture, it’s chronology and, where possible, drawn through an analogous process. This retreat to the tactile, the tangible, as a mode of understanding, is a response to our present evolutionary dichotomy - while the world around us begins to upload and digitise into unseen realms, Chris’ position circles around our innate physical condition being at the core of any design.
Coupled with this position, Chris brings to Scott Carver a gamut of knowledge developed under the tutelage of some of Sydney’s most respected small practices. He also remains as a sessional University of Technology Sydney design tutor.
With Scott Carver, he has enjoyed being a part of several large scale residential developments, sporting facilities and in helping realise Scott Carver’s Play Pod entry into the 2018 Sydney Design Festival.
He also lives to swim and takes quiet thrill in combing the wild for hidden aquatic elixirs.
