Alyssa’s portfolio of experience spans custom joinery design and detailing, spatial planning, layout and brand identity. She is particularly interested in brand story creation; developing narratives and identities across various mediums. Playing a pivotol role in the new David Jones concept store at Barangaroo, Alyssa was proud to design a variety of merchandising fixtures, which later became a standard for future store roll-outs. Taking a considered and purposeful approach to design, Alyssa is motivated by fulfilling and understanding the human condition. Contextual research also plays a pivotal role in her process, recognising and evaluating many perspectives before drawing to a central conclusion.
With influences ranging from designer George Livissianis to performance artist Marina Abramovic, Alyssa continues to be inspired creatively by immersing herself in a range of cultural mediums from art museums, plays, concerts to even podcasts. When considering other designers, Alyssa provides an open mind, valuing the relationship of design to the individual and seeing how she can implement alternative design-thinking and knowledge into her own processes.
Alyssa’s philosophy is to create stories, build on identity and enhance lives.
