The state of the art facility catered for all Olympic Sailing classes during this 2 week regatta, for 2 test events, the Sydney Olympic Games, and the SOAG 200 . The venue was assessed for its function, architecture, environmental design and urban integration.

This project embraced the reconstruction and refurbishment of existing shore based buildings. The construction of a 120 berth marina, a hardstand area, and the establishment of temporary structures housing workshops, and accommodating other essential behind the scenes amenities.

Post Olympics the venue (less temporary structures) has been adapted to form part of the improved foreshore reserve around the spectacular Rushcutters Bay.
